I have a pieced-together lift from Rusty's, including his 4.5 inch leaves with 1.5 inch extended shackles in the back, 4.5 inch springs with 1.75 spacers in the front, my LCA's are leftover from my Sky Jacker 3inch kit and i have Rusty's upper adj control arms. Im running that plus the RE drop bracket kit which is what really ties it all togther. that plus the AA SYE and Tom Woods drive shaft, and some extended brake lines and you all set, oh yeah and some big tires to make it all worthwile ;D edit: oh yeah and shocks too, damn this is an expencive hobby

im only going by what i used and what the guys i wheel with use, i believe there are only a couple of spring manufacters in the states and everybody buys steel from same places, what you pay for is advertising. re stuff is most likely the same as rustys, and skyjacker or whoever, rustys does little advertising, produces in house and sells direct, not through wholesalers or retail. so his stuff is cheaper. skyjacker or re, you pay for all those cool trucks they build and all the advertising, not to mention, wholesale markup then retail markup. i buy rustys stuff cause i can get a 6.5 inch lift for less that the 4.5 lifts of other makes. and it lasts. i will always try and support the"little guy". and i like the fact that i can call rusty and talk to him, try calling Mr. re when something fails or you have trouble with install. my $.02

You are 100% correct, here's a quote from rustys site which gives a list "As for comparion, our springs are manufactured by the same company that makes Rancho , Fabtech, Rubicon Express, Rubicon was having problems with their coil company and asked who we where using and are now using them." Oh and yes the typo is in their FAQ

Hower...its a know fact that RE has a much softer spring than Rustys....its been debated on other forums trust me, Although they might be manufactured at the same place the spring rates are not the same

did you install your own aa sye, how hard was that to do. do you still have stock gears, if so hows that working out for you. I did an aa sye this winter. The install isnt too bad, you should be able to get it done in a day.

yeah i did my own SYE, time consuming but not that difficult. Im still running stock gears now and i dont really mind it with 32's. The only reason im not changing it now though is because i plan on going to bigger tires this summer at which point i will gear down to 4.56 probably. But its really not bad with staock and 32's

stock carriers are 373 and up(numerically, then 355 and down i believe. you cant use the same one.

and as far as the spring rates go, its all up to how they are built, you can get them in soft med or firm, it usually depends on application. if they are to soft they sag and get that s shape to them. to stiff and no flex. rustys deals mostly with xjs, so he knows what works good. not to say that re doesnt, im just going by what ive witnessed first hand, not what i heard on another forum or from a friends friend.

what gears do you have now? if you have 373 you should be able to use it.
