well as most of you already know i have a zj with a 3.5 rubicon express superflex lift & 31" tires. well i want to raise it 2 more inches to 5.5" so my theory is this: add 2" bb's, re upper superflex adj. control arms, jks quick disco's, heavy duty r.e. front track bar, r.e. rear trackbar,racho 5000 steering stabilizer, change my rear lower control arms to adjustables also, and a hack and tap kit for the transfer case. plus 33" tires. todd said my 3.55 gears can ( should) handle 33's so i'll believe him without question. okay,now. am i missing anything? outside of an alignment? and does anyone (todd) know about this hack and tap kit for my transfer case. and how to cut and tap this to install it? i'm looking for advice, comments, and maybe some help installing in the future. i'll supply all food and bevereges. ;D

Get rustys or jks adjustable coil spacers so u can bump it u for the winch you are gonna get sometime.
hack n tap 231 takes off the tail shaft casing puts on a seal thingy cuts off the tail shaft a bit and drill n tap the shaft then put on the yoke adapter thingy

sounds good, 33s will be ok w 3.55 i had them and it worked well, never had a power problem. what t-case does it have, i might know where there is a kit for a 241

that is a pretty complete list, but you might also want to add extended brake lines if you dont have them, i run YJ braded lines, which are longer than the ZJ and cheaper. might also want to look into Kevins track bar conversion which i have and is incredable and the jks rear bar.

hey doug, i seen that kevins conversion thing. but what is the benefits and how much effert isit to put on? his website makes it seem retarded to install. and what is the benefit of the jks rear trackbar over the rubicons? other than your selling one . because the rubicon one is a superflex adjustable so i figured it would flex better than the jks. and i can get it brand new for $110 bucks. unless of course your willing to give me a deal on yours ;D. but seriously, is the jks better? and why? and give me more info on the kevins front set-up and its benefits and how hard it is to install. jerry

kevins just simply replaces the bracket, just like the RE one does and uses a WJ JKS track bar. as far as the difference i have readon the boards when i bought mine a couple years ago that it offered a little more flex and eliminated bumpsteer a little better than the RE, but both are good. as for the rear, the track bar doesnt flex liike a joint on the control arms, it just goes up and down, and the same thing for that, is i just read people were more happy with the jks, plus i think i sold mine anyway. just definatly stay away from the rear bracket as you probably already know. youll be happy with either the RE or JKS, im just going by personal experience and what i read, plus JKS is more expensive.
...also before you get new adjustable arms, try the set up with your current arms. i had ran the 3.5 coils and spacers on stock control arms, just to save some money, but they say every ZJ is different so give it a try, if it doesnt work then get the adjustables. oh yeah and your going to need some rock sliders to!

yeah im looking at rock sliders to. doug, did you do anything with your transfercase. like the hack and tap thing? because i get get a little driveline vibe now so if i put spacers i'll probably get more so thats why im considering the hack and tap. i have the 242 though. what was/is yours?

i have the 249 fulltime case, and did nothing with it. instead of that hack and tap thing you can simple get some longer bolts that hold up the cross member and get spacers or a bunch of washers to lower the crossmember, or maybe a sye and new rear shaft. i will be also making sliders this spring for matt(greenzj) and steve(crusc5) and there zjs, so if you still need them we can make a set for you, jst going to basically copy the Kevins sliders i have now.

i am not sure. i'm getting nervous because i already have some vibrations in my driveline. so i'm holding out until im completly sure about what im going to do. i cant afford to have complications. its still my wifes daily driver. just my weekend warrior ;D. plus my car is giving me problems now so i have to see what thats going to cost me.

If your getting vibes,
1. try replacing the U joint!
2. get a front end allignment
3. check to see if all tires are balanced.
