I finally got my leafs all set. much much better when ur not ridin on ur axles ;D before: after: only problem is i had planned to put in my BB spacers. back ones were easy as pie since i had it apart but as u can tell from the after picture my jeep still has its "aggreesive stance" as my friend put it. I have coil compressors and we tried to get them out but i guess you really need to start taking off all the front assemble to get them out. I don't have the equipment or know how to get those dam things out so i can put in the block. does anyone know an easier way to do it? or has anyone who has done this before willing to give me a hand? i am pretty sure i have stolen enough of my dads "free time" fixing the safety problems i doubt he will help me for something that doesnt effect work drivin. If anyone can help me please pm me...i can offer ya gas money and food

Use coil compressors, they come right out, I've done it 6 times or so. It definatly works, if you want help doing it let me know and we can plan some time to do it. probably have to be an evening during the week. ( i have another set of compressors if we need them)

did you crank them all the way as far as they can go? Sometimes it takes some swearing

did you jack up the jeep? don't you have to make your suspension "hang" to take the springs out using a spring compressor?

when i removed my factory springs all i had to do was disco the swaybar and they almost fell out, but thats a tj so it could be different.

The cherokee is very differant your upper control arms and tracbar bind to get the stock springs out you have to disconnect a lot of things, compressors are easier.
Though I've done it on a jeep with aftermarket lower control arms by taking everything except the upper arms off, then jacking one side of the axle up, having someone stand on the other and using a crowbar to get the new springs in.

Oh and you are compressing the coil, and sliding it UP then pulling the bottom of the spring sideways to get it off right? You wont compress it enough to get it off if you dont go up and kick the bottom out.

i did a bb on my xgf's cherokee and i don't think we removed anything but the swaybar. we just compressed the springs and then jacked up one side of the axle and then stepped on the other to get it lower and it popped right out.

yea with spring compressors thats how I do it, but I meant to say without the compressors I 've done a 3" lift coil and budget boost spacer and got it in, just had to take a buncha crap off.

i jacked up my bumper, then with another jack lift my axles to compress the coil, then put the compressors on and tightened em as much as i could. i let the axle down and there still wasnt enough room. took off my swar bar...didnt budge at all. disconnected my shock and it didn't drop anymore either.

are the compressors your using the kid with a big screw and some hooks on each end? if so how long are they?

when i compress my coil they almost reach both ends. 1 swirl shy of clamping on the bottom and top. and yeah its the hooks one side has 2 one has one and its a big nut ya turn.

I'm failing to see how its not comming out then? If you take the tire off, and let the axle full droop. Remove the springclip and compress them it should be able to slide up over the bumpstop and you can pull the bottom of the spring out to one side then slide it down.

havin problem gettin coil cpmressor in the back to work well. no room. always ends up makin the coil curl into a c shape. plus i was doin it at 11:00 pm. might try again later this week if i have time.
