F'ed up leaf spring, thought?

While im waiting for a reply from Rusty's(going on 4 days now) lets see what you guys think...

People started comenting to me the my jeep doesnt ride strait on the road..so figuring it was my trac bar not being long enough and my front axle was out to one side, i didnt worry about it. I finally decided to take some measurments and this is what i found out: My wheel base is a whole 2 inches longer on the pass side, yeah, nice. Its deff the pass side leaf spring, and i cant see any noticable bends in the leaf spring. So i called Rusty's and they said they would put the measurments into a CAD program and let me know what they think (thier leaves are lifetime warrentied) So what could be going on here? Just seeing if anybody has any thoughts..

I already went ahead and ordered some RE leaves as replacements but im still hopeing Rustys will send me a knew set of at least one to replace the fubered one. Oh and its not a center pin issue i dont think because i have been wheeling it like this for a while and not a single leaf in the pack has budged...

Did you take mesurements from the crossmember to the front axle like I asked?

Are both springs installed the same way?

I know that on my FSJ springs, that the centering pin is offset to one side of the leaf pack. This means that one side of my springs are longer than the other side... that would certainly throw off your wheel-base.

you know that is agood thought, xj springs do have off-set centering pins but i think they are waaaaaaaaay of-set so i don't know if you could mix them up? but a good thought.

I would take more mesurements than wheel to wheel, check the front and rear axles orentation to the frame something else could be out of alignment or a combination of ways. Though the way it rides when i follow it seems like a rear axle issue.

Yeah i measured the front axle its all set. I measured from the center cap of both rear wheels to the trailing edge of my rockers and the pass side is 2 inches further away. And no the leaf wasnt instaled backwards, like todd said the center pin would be WAY off like 6 or 7 inches. Im taking them out friday so ill be able to compare them and see whats up.

I bet they gave you a XJ spring and a YJ spring. The springs are almost Identicle, but the XJ spring is 1.75 inches longer.

before you installed them, did you ever lay them next to each other?? or were they always seperate..that way you could prove johns theroy correct (of them sending you one yj and one xj, i bet you would have noticed the difference tho!!

or....sine you said your are fed up with leaves, why not get the RK coilover upgrade for the rear?? ;D

I talked to Rusty today, i had to call him and when i did it seemed like he wasnt exactly in a hurry to talk to me. He says he thinks its the center pin. I said "wouldnt my leves be falling apart?" he says no not nessisarily....so friday when i take the leaves out i guess ill know.
