Yea... I'll chime in on this one too. Bob's rig is built to drive to the trail, survive just about any run within reason, and then drive home. I have an 84 CJ7 that I am slowly adding some upgrades to and all of these guys have been a huge help. I have a little one so I haven't been able to make it out as much as I'd like but these guys are a great group. knowing (or at least making some educated assumptions on) how you will you use your Jeep when it is finished will be key in the build up/parts selection. I am running 31s and I know that my CJ will see a bunch of street use so I am waiting to see just how my wheeling I will be doing before moving to larger tires or a different type (Swampers... like Bob) Kent Speaking of Bob's CJ..... here it is

i have been driving my cj about 55 miles each day i forgot how fun it is to drive a cj every day. 36's and 4:56 gears are a little tuff though.

Rich,
Are you driving the CJ7 everyday? That must be quite a ride. I thought you might put the CJ5 on the road. Speaking of which.... any updates on that sweet little Jeep with the BIG V8?

bob, that's a SWEET looking cj. i definately want to check it out. if you're available on weekends, even this weekend, i'll make time. where do you live? about the engine swap, the reason i'm considering it is cause the engine in mine is junk so i'll need a new power plant anyway and i figure, why not upgrade?

as a matter of fact, (not that i have a man crush on bob or anything), having a rig that'll travel 50 miles of highway and then wheel is EXACTLY what i want to build.

Kent if it is nice out i drive it it rides really good except that i don't run rear shocks and it gets a little bouncy sometimes. still waiting till i get employed before the cj5 gets a paint job and is registered
