I recently formatted my hard drive because it crashed but I didn't get a chance to back-up some videos I took over the years. Is there anyway to get them back?

ive read that a computer harddrive is a lot like a piece of paper and a pencil. you can write on the paper, and erase it, but you will always see a little hint of what was there before. maybe you can, i honestly dont know. my first post was an educated guess.

if you have installed stuff on the hard drive since the format, then you probably cannot recover much. If the drive is still blank, then you can. There are programs out there you can buy or download. I did it about 5 years ago, can't remember the program tho. just google it.

A DIY recovery will most likely not work.... And it is very expensive to have a professional recover it. Good luck, but I am pretty sure your screwed.

there is software that will recover what you have lost. no information is ever erased. unless you burn it! lol

Ive seen software for sale at Best Buy that recovers "deleted" stuff. It believe it recovers anything that has been "lost."
I too am not sure of the name of it.

I have found tons of deleted recovery software, but the formatting brings a problem.
