I am looking at getting a used car and the one that I looke at had a small dent in the left rear liftgate suround that had a dime sized area of rust in it. Now, my first reaction was "No way: any rust is bad" but then I got to thinking: can this be fixed corectly?

rust CAN be fixed, but, at what cost? is the overall vehicle worth it? Any vehicle that is driven in the winter around here is gonna take a beating from the salt, sand, and gravel. Rust is just a fact of life-and death- for a NewEngland automobile.
