So, some of you might remember that I had posted about the squeeks that my front end was making when it was cold out and lasted for about 2 miles then seemed to go away.
Well last night, I had what felt like my right front wheel wobble pretty bad for a couple of seconds then stop.
I havent drove it since, so dont know if it was a fluke thing or not? I looked around the front and couldnt see anything that looked to be wrong or out of place.?
This sound like bearings? or..... ?

steering dampener. if it was bearings i dont think it would go away. my best bet is your steering dampener.

ball joints, thats what I would guess, but thts a guess, could use a little more info.. Jack up the front of the jeep so the tires are off the ground, check for excessive "slop" in the ball joints, also try to twist the tire side to side, if it does, could be a tie rod end..
a steering dampener would not cause a lot of wobble, I have very little wobble, and I don't even have a steering dampener.

my steering dampener went in my xj and you'd think the front end was going to fall off. until i changed it. so in my case the steering dampener caused alot of wobble.

Thanks guys, I will check it out tomorrow after work.
I was out of town for the weekend, I drove it home from the airport today about an hour + drive and it squeaked for a few miles like normal and went away. Didnt have any weird shakes though. Also I am noticing that when the wheel is turned all the way to the right I feel a "flat spot".. kinda hard to discribe, But that might have always been there and now I am being paranoid.?

my steering dampener went in my xj and you'd think the front end was going to fall off. until i changed it. so in my case the steering dampener caused alot of wobble. It is physicaly impossible for a steering dampener to cause death wobble. All they do is mask it. If you have wobble 90% of the time it is caused by bad tracbar mounts. The other 10% is caster angle/control arm bushings/etc. If you have woble or bad vibes check your tracbar mounts, both axle and frame, and check your unit bearings by jacking up one side of the axle ata time and seeing if th etire has any top to bottom play.

What Dan is that dw is not supposed to happen period and the steering stablizer is just a bandaid. Its there but you dont "need it" if everything else in your front end is setup correctly.
