okay. well, it only vibrates when i'm accelarating and going over 40 mph. it feels like a powertrain vibration but as soon as i let off the accelerator. it stops. granted i never had it aligned when i put the lift kit in. but it doesn't pull at all either accel, or braking. and the vibration is only when im hitting the gas over 40 mph. i let off the gas it stops. any ideas?i figured if it was a alignment problem, or stabilizer, or driveshaft problem. it would be a constant vibration. not just when im accelarting. i need advice. p.s. i should also note that its a very slight vibration and it doesn't get worse the faster i go it the same from 40-85 mph. and its more like a humming vibration. i was wondering if it was rear differential? i changed the gear oil in it about 1000 miles ago. i put lucas in it. but the jeep was making that noise before i changed it also. so nothing has changed. i started noticing the vibration/humming after i put the lift kit in a couple of months ago. could the bigger tires cause the rear end to make that noise and vibration from the strain? ive also heard some people talk about a slip yolk eliminator, that couldn't be my problem, could it? damn the p.s. is longer than the original post. ;D

xfactor. thanks for the quick resonse. it's not the death wobble. i had that with my xj. its more of a accelerating vib/humming. kind of like the rear diff is straining. if it was my tires the vib and humming wouldn't stop after i let off the gas.

what dont i carry should be the question. my favorite is my smith & wesson perfomance center 5906. only 350 ever made. and its the fasted most accurate sa/da semi auto 9mm in the world. this gunwon 1st,2nd,&3rd place in the idpa championships. expensive but wow what a gun. guns and ammo mag. and gun world named it the perfect 9mm. and my wife surprised me a few years ago and brought me to springfield and bought me #330. sorry for the rant. p.s. my second fav. is the colt ar-15 assualt rifle.

thats what im trying to find out. if i need a sye. or to drop my tranfer case. but everyone says you shouldn't have to do that unless you go 4.5" or higher. i only went 3.5".
i used to have a s&w 99. i just didn't like that it was a da only. otherwise it was a great gun. very reliable.

guns to jeeps...just the first shot after being decoked is da..after thats its single...or you can slide the actions back like 1\4 inch and it will be single..
nack to the jeep..its only a half inch from being "manditory" id lower an inch ..what do you have to lose..it cant get worse

This is on the Cherokee I take it. With a lift of 3 1/2 inches, I wouldn't think you would have a drive shaft issue but ya never know. The vibe sounds like a U-Joint problem to me. On the gas at 40 and stops when you let off the gas. Check for play in those first. For a test you could drop the rear shaft and drive it in 4 hi and see if it goes away. If you can prove that the DS is the offending part it may be easer to pick up some adjustable rear upper CAs and tilt the pinion up a bit. A better Idea than dropping the T-Case in my humble opinion. Bottom line though, try to isolate the vibe. Gets expensive swapping out parts. Oh, also get an alignment after your done! Good luck. Roger.

Go buy an angle finder from sears... about $10 I think. Measure your angles on your rear pinion yoke and your output shaft yoke. Then go from there you could only need 1 or 2 washers or you may need an inch. I had 3 inch skyjacker coils, 2.5 re aal with a .75 inch shackle and I needed a 1 inch skyjacker t-case drop.
Hope that helps.

Oops, I was thinking slinkys. I would still check the U-Joints for play. Roger.

I would have to 100% agree with jeepTJ00 if your pinion is off a degree or two it will cause vibration in the rear shaft mainly when accelorating or if there is a load on it like if you have your foot on the padal I would check that before anything else, if you need any info feel free to PM me.
