HEI Upgrade - Installed

Well I finally got around to installing the HEI distributor in my CJ. The worst part of the job was waiting for the replacement cap and wires to show up!

The is a noticable difference in starting and under power so I am very happy with the decision to install the unit. Just figured I would post the pics and recommend the upgrade for anyone considering it.

Thanks to Bob for suggesting the HEI and helping out with the swap.

yeah it looks like one of those special v8 distributors with 6 output wires

Close.. the distributer from the 3.8 and 4.3 chevy was simply a V8 distributor with two cylinder knocked missing.

all HEI distributors are huge, it also house the coil.

I was worried it wasn't going to fit under the oil dipstick because it was so big. Love the extra power in that coil.
