will stock rubicon springs change the ride height of a 2000 tj sport with a hardtop?

probly not, if you want a cheep lift go with a rubicon exspress budgit 2".. we just did one in under an hour and itll make room for 33's

yes...since the spring rate is stiffer you will get about 1" of lift assuming they are brand new springs. the ride will be a little stiffer but you will gain height.
if you don't believe me go to the dealership and ask to see a rubi and a sport next to one another...they are more than 1/2" difference.

Also if you have some sag it will fix it with new springs. I think. I noticed i've been bottoming out with my springs, so i figure if i slap some new springs in there i'll get back the height that i've lost.

I agree with everyone! (whats new)
The rubi springs are identically the same height as a sport spring, but yes the spring rate is different so they sit a little higher. in turn, I think a budget boost, or 2" lift would achieve your desired goal.. Remember Josh, you have 32's on a essentially stock lift, your gonna run/bottom out.
IMHO. go with a budget boost (might cost a little more) but you'll be happier in the long run!

I know. I got the BB in my room, just gotta find some time to install it. Maybe this weekend... maybe next weekend.... maybe next month. I just gotta find some time. I just wish it was better weather out. ;D

thanks guys...the reason i am asking is i do want the budget boost but i wanted to use rubicon springs with the kit to get a little extra lift rather than a body lift. with a budget boost and rubi springs would i need to worry about any driveline issues or swaybar extensions? vince

rockdaleTJ installed a new set of Rubicon springs in his '97 TJ. Said it boosted his Jeep back up because the old ones were sagging out.
I do believe they will give atleast 1/2" of height difference over stock, worn out springs.

You will never know about vibes cause all jeeps are different. When I had a 2" BB i had no vibes at all. My friend garrison (GFunk201) had vibes after just the 2" spacers. He dropped the tcase to fix it. He also used the rubicon springs, and yes they gave him a little more than stock hieght. We didnt measure but it was definetly about an inch. WIth that lift you will not need extended swaybar links.

As said before i did Rubi springs in mine , and gave me about 1 inch, maybe even a little more over my stock height. I am currently running those w/ a 2" trailmaster spacer lift.

Who knows i just threw in huge spacers and 33"s with plenty of clearance, no vibes but I had to extend swaybars, and I need a steering stabilizer.? mild death wobble. you never know what to expect.

You probalby need an alignment instead of a steering stabilizer. Your Jeep is new so i don't think you'll need a new steering stabilizer. Mine on the other hand is leaking so i gotta replace. I'm no expert but they say the stock steering stabilizer is pretty good and does the job.

my other problem is i am still disco'd. I havent hooked up my swaybar in the front its a nit wishy washy but I like just pulling into a trailhead. Probably should re connect though. its a bit scary on the highway. ;D
