All four bolts that attach the rear sway bar bushings to the rear axle sheared off flush with the mount. I've soaked the stubs for several days with PB plaster. Drilled out the center of the bolts, and generously heated the bolts, before trying to remove them with a screw extractor. Now I've broken 2 extractors and still no luck. Any tips or advice? Should I just drill the hole bigger and retap the threads?

Drilling and retapping sounds like thats your best bet based on the tools you have. I have never actually gotten a screw extractor / easyout to work.
Goodluck!!

I have gotten a extractor to work with those stupid torx head bolts on the windshield. you just need to make sure you have the right thread direction.
Questions, is it possible to weld a nut to the broken bolt? is there enough of the broken bolt protruding that you could do this? If not, either drill out and re tap or you could redrill and helicoil is.

I love easyouts, I had to use one on two chevys I have owned, one block snapped 3 spark plugs inside it and another snapped one inside it. Go chevy 350s and no one before me giving them a tune up.

ifinish taking the rear bar out..you dont need it anyways Um, yeah, you really do need it, if you actually drive and wheel your jeep. I've been playing around for the last week, while I'm trying to get these damn bolts out and noticed the following: The body roll under hard steering/breaking is definately not safe if you need emergency evasive action on the road. Also, on the trail it does give you more flex, but you sacrifice handling and proper weight distribution. When going over obstacles with no rear sway bar, the rear axle articulates too much relative to the front and you get excessive body lean to the downhill side. This transfers weight to the downhill side and causes the rear of the vehicle to slide off, or around an obstacle rather than over it. Conclusion - No rear sway bar is great for flexing on an RTI ramp, but not much else.
