What does everyone suggest for a 4" lift kit complete. Im fitting it with 33" tires. give me input on all around drivability. I want a solid ride that won't stink for daily driving.

I have the 4 inch sky jacker lift with a half inch body lift. I run 33's and drive a TON everyday. Besides crappy gas mileage, i have no complaints. Im happy with it and i like the ride on and offroad.

BL are one of the easiest things to install, but anything over 1" simply is dangerous and looks stupid. i would get something like the tera/bds/re 3" lift with a 1"bl and call it a day. as long as you get good shocks the ride won't be that bad, but with lifting you are going to have to sacrifice some ride quality.

BDS makes great lifts, I have a YJ so do not have any experience with thier TJ lifts, but have heard nothing bad about them, plus thier stated 3" lifts usually end up sitting alot higher than what the factory states. I have a 3.5" bds lift and it definatly sits more like 4 to 4.25in high.

I am running a 3" body lift and a 2" body lift combined for a total of 5"s of body lift. I fit my 35" tires w/o any problems. Factory like ride.

One drawback is my mudflaps arent as low as they should be. But the benefits cant be beat. Alot easier to clean the underside of the tub. You should see how my neon lights shine between the framerails and the body. Awesome! No driveline vibes. Lower center of gravity than a suspension lift. LOOKS KICK a**! As for dangerous...... I used all grade 8 hardware for bolts! DUH!!!

I owe you guys an apology. Sometimes when i talk about my jeep I get a little overzealous. I may have exagerated about some of the details. Please forgive me.
I dont have neon installed on my Jeep. It is on order though and will probably be installed before spring.

5" of body lift *cringes* so do you have a shifter anymore? or has it disappeared into the body entirely?

Actually i extended the shifter. i'm not very mechanically inclined so i used a long wrench and duct taped it to the shifter, i then got a new shift nob from Autozone that lights up with blue neon.

kcvikingrun, You ask an age-old question. The answer is not one other people can answer for you. I don't know if I have met you but I have no clue of your driving technique, or what Jeep other than a TJ your driving. There are many factors to consider. How much you want to spend, how often you wheel, Are you going to do your own work, ect ect...
Give us some more details. I have the AiROCK and you can't beat it for on road ride verses off road ability. Now that being said, it IS expensive but well worth it. In any project you need to prioritize your needs. Price, time or quality. Try to put these in order. If money is the determining factor, then something in the order of a Budget boost is in order and a lot of people swear by them. If quality with time as the last concern is your position then take the time to mix and match. You *don't* have to use all of the same products from the same manufacturer. You can take the best that each has to offer and put together your own kit. There is a wealth of knowledge on the Internet but this would take some time and work on your part to do. If you want a lift now, then find a local dealer to do the work and take what they have to offer. Its up to you and only you can make the choice. If you read ALL of the opinions on the net, you will be one confused puppy by the time your done. LOL. Good luck with your project.

Wow what a military gun style question! Loaded! I am pretty sure everyone is going to ive a answer that is very similar to what is under their jeep! For example, I also have skyjacker (but is a YJ completely different suspension) I ride 33's and I don't sit as high as other 4" lifts. I sag a little cause I have the soft ride, gives me a great ride quality, and monsterous amounts of flex. I have had super lift before, but my experiences were not great, road like crap! but I ended up snapping a leaf in the spring pack after only two months of use, I call super lift to have them replace it and said that since I took it off road, it voided the warranty on the spring. On a TJ, most lifts that still use the short arm will all ride some what the same cause of the manner in which a coil spring compresses. (very linier compression as oposed to leaf springs which have to compress in about 130 directions under simple load. most 4" kits are in the area of $800-$1000 for a complete kit If you went with a long arm, which is a killer set up, but no the most ecinomic for price and daily driving, will yield a lot different ride. cost is any where from $1500-$2500 If I was you I would avoid body lifts all together. Once you seperate the body from the frame, jeep will no longer honor you warranty, and I thnk your TJ is what, two weeks old??? SO Friends don't let friends Body Lift. If you want to fit 32" tires and do it in a very economical manner and retain the ride that you currently have, a budget boost with coil spacer is what you should look for. the kit would have spacers, shocks and hardware, on top of that I would invest in some adjustable trac bars. and swap bar disconnects. when you experience grows and you want to go larger, the trac bars and disco's and be used in the next lift. Budget boost-$200-$300 trac bars and discos-$200-$300 my $.02
