Is anyone running a 4.0 stroker? looking to build a stroker and wanted some long term input on them. Interested in what displacement, and other technical specifications being used in your build-up.

Not sure if you have seen this site before, but this guy Dino seems to really know what he is talking about when it comes to strokers. These are two of his sites, the first is all different options and the second is the one that he actually built. Yes, I,ve been on that yahoo group for a couple years and Dino knows his stuff. I was more looking for what the locals had put together and how it's been running for them. Rich's engine is a boat anchor. ;D

I'm currently building a 4.6/4.7L.
80' 258, bored .060 over, 4.0HO conversion head, Nice cam.
In order to do this your going to need a crank and set of rods from a 258(4.2L) I can help you out on that because i have a few 4.2L's

wouldn't that be a 4.5 ltr? How did you block off the water jackets in your 4.0 head? Do you have any 12 counterweight 4.2 cranks, uncut?

I have seen people use a two part epoxy, but that was on the web.

I put a 4.0 head on a 4.2 in a YJ I had, It worked very good. I used JB weld, I filled the jacket holes with packing peanuts that disolved in water, then filed down the high spots. Brazing the holes and machining the head is the best way, NO worries then.

The head was fuse welded and decked.
I have currently have 2 4.2L's. I haven't stripped them down yet but i plan on it eventually. One is a 78 and other is a 88
