has anyone done ths. from prep work to welding in the spring pads and controll arm brackest.

i did in my zj, with some help from John and Todd. you can reuse your brackets, but just takes longer to cut them off, measure everything, and make sure the brackets are the same size, but the best and easiest way to go is after market, can use Rubicon Express, or Currie i think, and Clayton makes some nice high clearence brackets. i definatly think it is worth it. Do you already have the axle? also i have the spicer adaptor bracket for the drive shaft if you want it, $25, i paid $40.

definetly go with m.o.r.e. cause its specifically made for the 8.8. The Rubicon express ones need to be trimmed to fit the larger axle tubes on the 8.8. Im planning on doing an 8.8 this summer too. Let me know how it goes

Not hard to get the axle under the rig, the more Difficult part whic h is not that difficult, is the Ebrake (get a ZJ unit) and the pinion yoke flange (fords use flanges where jeeps use yokes) other than that straight foward.
One tip that I learned the hard way when I did my first 8.8 axle swap back in the day! Don't measure from teh differential! it is off centered, thank god I only taked the brakets on.

yeah thats what i did, from the flange that the disks bolt to on the inside. i think you might have to move the breather tube also, but not positive.
