Hey guys, I am sick of the plastic bumpers on my ZJ falling off all the time. I am going to start to make tube frame bumpers for the front and rear.
I already bought a hydraulic pipe bender, it doesn't make the prettiest bends but it works and was cheap. If I had to do it again I would get a JD Squared type but they are a little too expensive for me.
I'm looking into getting a cheap Harbor Freight one and see how things play out with it. I just got a drill press hooked up in the garage so I am set to start on this.
What did you guys use, or hear was a good pipe notcher, I am also looking for something cheap.

wtf is a pipe notcher? Are you talking about a flare machine? I know a little about bending tube, but not enough... pics of what you want please.

I've used the JD2 one, it works well. I have also been told the harborfreight one is ok.

works well, but you may not like the $200 price tag.

and the fact that you need a drill press to use it.
Just use a cut off wheel and a file or air grinder / dremel tool to get the copes you want.

Well I already have a drill press in the garage and using an angle grinder take a long time and is hard work.
Im thinking of buying a harborfreight one that is similar to the pivture above.

I will attest to that notcher, works great, but your notches will only be a good as the hole saw you use.

I just read that artice, well skimmed the parts I didn't need and focused on the cutting part. I never really thought of doing it that way and I am going to give it a try. I can not wait to try this out. I picked up a "new" band saw and I can't wait to try it out.
