I got 4 u-joints from the auto parts store, and got them home, and they were different that the ones on my D/S. the old ones are toast, so I could not put them back in, so luckily I had a spare axle with u-joints on it that brian blomberg (sp?) gave to me when he put his lift on. I have that on for now, but I need new u-joints. does anyone know if the rubi has a different u-joint? I gotta get them done. thanks!

your driveshaft u-joints and your axle u-joints are probably different. if you still got stock axles and stuff an auto parts store should be able to give you the right one. it all depends on if their database is correct though. i'd try napa, or find out online what specific u-joint you're looking for and just go in and ask for that.

also, call the dealer and get a part number and have napa cross it against theirs.

thanks for the help folks! I know that the axle u joints are probably different, I was referring to the 4 on the drive shafts (2 front, 2 rear) I will definitly give a call to a dealer, or my friend at napa. Thanks again!

your front should have 3 if its a cv shaft, and i thought rubi's came with a sye making it a cv in the rear to right? if it is then you would need 6 joints, and the ones in the top (2 in the cv joint) are different than the ones on the axle end.

I do know that the rubicoon uses a flange on the transfer case to mount the driveshaft, Although its a flange its NOT a CV type driveshaft. just a standard 2 Ujoint unit

When I did my ujoints on the front shaft of my TJ there was a CV. It took 3 ujoints, I would think the rubi's the same.

haven't even looked at the front yet, cuz the rear was the wrong size, so i stopped there. the rubi does take a 1330 instead of a 1310 u joint in the rear shaft, and yes it is only a 2 u joint shaft. I will keep y'all posted when I have a day off to get under my heep again!

The rubi rear stock shaft takes a Saginaw/1330 conversion joint, but I don't know the part number. I think its a Spicer 5-212x, but not sure. The flange end is a Spicer 5-1203x. The front DS is a CV type shaft and takes a Spicer 5-790x for all 3 and the center ball is a Spicer 211179x. The front axle u-joints are Spicer 5-760x. Did you find a local source, cause I'm looking too.
