I have the warn diff cover. I didnt need to change the gasket. or take the old cover off. Matt bucket110) has seen me slam my warn one into a rock at a high rate of speed and it held up. I would reccomend it!

ok , sounds good. i was actually looking at those. do you just have the front? or rear also? so, you didnt have to change diff. oil to install, just remove a few bolts, and put the skid over the stock cover?

man don't be scared about removing the diff cover. it bolts on, nothing special. you should change the diff fluid frequently anyway, like id yoiu have gone through deep mud or water... hmmmmmm have you ever done that? ;D but the warn covers are nice and about the least expensive. but there are a lot of companys' that make them, poison spyder, purple cranium (i have those) bluetorch fab. etc.etc.etc. and all are really easy to install

Its a lot more common to get just a front one so Ive heard, since the warn cover is designed so that the differential slides more easily over obstacles instead of getting hung up. Im not sure why you would need a rear one unless you drive backwards? Maybe im wrong tho.

the lower edge on most stock covers can stick below get peeled out. that is why you get one. also when you back up you can slam a rock easily.

Thanks for the help. I think im going to go with the warn skids. Ok, this is my last dumb thought, is there anything on the skid that wraps under the REAR diff. itself a bit to prevent the cover from being peeled while going forward? Id love to be able to see a side view of the installed plate. The front seems to make perfect sense, but if there is a lip on the rear, what is to stop the stick cover and skid from being torn off, with the bolt being the weakest link?? I just want to get this right the first time.
