Ok, here is my semi embarassing question. I just bought a set of AR 767 wheels and tires for my XJ. The tires are mounted on the wheels allready. Can I just jack up the jeep, and swap out the old wheels and tires? Do I need a front end alignment? Do I need to go to a garage and have them tighten the lug nuts with the air gun for added safety after I swap the tires/wheels? The new wheels have the same size tires as the ones that are presently on the jeep. Thanks for any input. Best, D.

Buy yourself a 1/2" torque wrench at Sears for $70.
No need to get an alignment, unless your Jeep currently needs one (are the tires wearing funny?).
Crack loose the lugs on one wheel, jack up that corner of the Jeep, remove lug nuts. Remove old wheel, replace new wheel. Start lug nuts by hand and snug them up. Lower vehicle, Repeat for all 4 wheels.
After you get the vehicle down on all four wheels, grab your torque wrench, set it to 100ft-lbs, and tighten each set of lug nuts in a 5-star pattern. Very easy to do. I usually double-and-triple-check the tightness of the lugnuts with my torque wrench.
Recheck the tightness of the lugnuts after driving for a day or two, and periodically recheck them.
