Ok.. so i had to pull the rubber bushing out of my shock where the stud would go through. Now, i cant get the friggin thing back in. It just compacts the rubber and wont go through the hole.
anyone have some ingenious way of getting the bushing back into the hole?

Have you tried WD40 to lube it up?

Put a little grease on them, rest the shock eye on a piece of wood, place the bushing on top of the hole in which is should go, use a rubber mallet and give it one good wack, shoulc pop right in.

I've done this a bunch of times, I usually end up using a vice, some PBR* and a little swearing. I press the rubber in first, then the metal pin through after it.
*Note this is Pabst Blue Ribbon not PB blaster or any other lubricant.

On hydraulic shocks (when I worked for my daddy.. ) we used the method John (jps4jeep) mentioned and also had to use a big flat screw driver to help *push* it in, just be carefull if you use the screw driver as it can cause damage to the sleeve and/or bushing.
mmm could there be an issue with *air* flow resistance?

if you dont have a vise c clamp or any other clampy type of tool,
you can press it in with a bolt nut and some large washers, make sure the bolt is threaeded all the way to the head and lube the bushing so you dont tear it and whala
