is anyone else running a SYE drive shaft good for 2-6 in lift on a non-lifted tj,
i am and i blow a u joint on the axle side in less then 1000 miles. thats the only thing ive change with my drive line. and the only thing i can think of is when you run a cv shaft the pinion and drive shaft have to be alingd..and i wrong? anyone

the angle at the t-case and the angle at the pinion have to be identical. but in real world applications the pinion should be 1-2* lower to componsate for the axle rotating under load.

your driveshaft is too long, and you're putting too much stress on the u-joints. It doesn't sound like there is any room for the slip-shaft on the driveshaft to move.

I have about 4.5 " of lift in mine, and I run a Tom Woods D/S with my SYE of a stock YJ. If I put the one for the lifted YJ on there it is way too long, should I ever put any compression on the slip shaft, it would essentially bottom out, ramming the Pinion onto the differential, grenading anything inside! Tom Woods Screwed the Pooch when he came up with the basic measuments for wrangler D/S for mass production. The easiest way I found was to install the SYE, then measure your running length and call him up with that measurement, then he will outfit you with the proper length.

call him up with that measurement, then he will outfit you with the proper length. Agreed . . . thats what I did and its been working fine. Whats your measurement yoke to yoke? I think mine was around 14 inches on a TJ with about 4 inches of lift.

that was takin in my shop with the wheels on the ground..i put a new ujoint in..im gona keep n eye on it and see what happens..it it goes again im gona have to lift it. why down grade

When you gettin the lift? Didnt you blow a other U jiont today on 93. I rember giving tools to a jeep that look like yours hahaha. How did your trip home go with that blown axel seal.
