How do i get the tranny fluid from the bottle into the side of my tranny? i went to Lappens and the had a little pump that moves 4 cc's at a time, ugh!
any suggestions? i'm gonna go to the 'Zone after work and see if they have a pump or somethin.

you use a funnel and pour it down the dipstick tube.

I use about 4 feet of tubing to make sort of an oil "iv".i put the tubing in the fill hole then bring it where i can easily fill with oil.(the gear oil containers with the nipple) Bob

Its a manny. no dipstick. i got a cool little dispenser for the gear lube, but it has gear lube in it. Do you think a little gear lube (< 1oz.) would hurt the tranny?

I've found a suction gun works best. autozone sells them, I'm sure Lappen's and NAPA do too. They should be with the grease guns.

You don't need fluid in there, totally over rated!
also I would recomend syncromesh! stay away from any GL5 crap that the manual might call for, it is coorsive to the brass syncro's in the AX 15! (Assuming your TJ has a AX 15)

^^ what john said, if you go synthetic fluid, look for the GL ratings carefully, its hard to find a synth for the ax-15 without brass eating capibilites

I dont know if its too late... go get a service manual form your work and look at the fluid reccomendations that it says for your tranny. I think you have the NVG 3550. If you use synthetic, or any other crap it can ruine the tranny over time. get the factory stuff, they put it in there for a reason.
EDIT: Not trying to go against John or Mike. just my opinion, and another opinion from a well trusted guy from my shop, that used to wheel and is on a pit crew.

i used the mopar tranny fluid for the NV 3550. i bought 4 qts. yea.... it holds like 2! that stuff is expensive too.
BTW, i could really tell the difference in the tranny, shifted smoother and really pulled through the gear range a lot smoother. Next, drain and fill the T-case, and flush the radiator and that'll be all fresh fluids.

My wifes a nurse so i got a pretty big syringe from her and connected a straw to it. Sucks the fluid outta bottle really fast & injects into tranny/diff as fast. Made the job really easy

...but we are all going to blow up our trannys anyways!
