You have the apex edition? From my understanding thats similar to the X model and had a Dana 30 front and Dana 35 rear axle. That being said you most likely have 3.07 gears. You can buy lockers if you want but if you do I would not recommend going over 32" in tire height, since the rear axle is EXTREMELY weak. I have the same axle and it plagues me. Your front axle should be ok with up to 35" tires.

I actually dont have one right now, because I run 33s putting a locker in would be a ticking timebomb offroad. I have been considering using a nice limited slip in the rear, and locking the front. With that you could have a good street ride and still be very capable offroad. Plus a limited slip wouldnt put as much stress on the rear dana 35 axle. If you definetly want a rear locker, you can look at "Super 35" or "Ultimate 35" kits by Superior or Yukon, which upgrade the axle shafts and include either a detroit or ARB locker. But they are still real expensive, and most people dont bother putting any money into the dana 35, because overall its a very very weak axle. What tire size are you planning on?

when i got my lift i bought the biggest lift (at the time ) and 35" tires. after that i did the body lift. so my jeep was big but it didnt really equate to function. if i was you, i would get some 31" or 32" mud terrains and lock the front. get some good discos, rocker guards, under carriage protection and then start adding cool trail stuff. hi lift jack, CB, bumpers, sport cage,on board air, then LIFT IT! 6" rockKrawler long arm!
