Right now i have a 2.5 4 cyl on 32's with the stock 4:10 or maybe 4:11 gears. My next upgrade (sometime) will be a super 35 w/ a detroit in the rear, and a lock-rite in the front. Question # 1~ Will it cause any problems to run a detroit and lock-rite together?? Question #2~ If i do this, I would do it all at the same time. WOuld it be worth it to install 4:56's?? I hardly ever drive this jeep over 50 MPH, so top speed isnt an issue. The bigest tire Id ever run would be a 33 inch swamper. WOUld there be a ton of benefit to the lower gears?

deff...since your in there anyways..its eazy to do now then regret it later..2.5 has some serious lack of power issues and the gear will be a huge help..as for miss matched lockers...it wont hert a thing

Yeah ill second that, if you had the 4.0 id say you would be fine with 33's but since you dont i would re grear. I didnt know wranglers came with 4.10 gears?...

the rub is full of 4.10s and someone at jeep felt bad to under power a wrangle so they helped it along with a lil gear

I have the 4:10s with 32 inch swampers right now, and honestly, i dont feel much of a difference in power than with 30 inch tires., especially in 4WD, and again, especially in Low range. The little thing is pretty torquey. So, i guess this is a dumb question, Id feel a huge difference with 4:56's vs. what I have now??

You would see a noticable differance in my opinion, I am going to run 4.56's on 33" tires with my 4.0 once I come up with the cash. Under normal and easy offroading (in 4 low), I think you would probably be fine with the 4.10's though.

I agree with all them people! if your in there, why not upgrade, you can get two R&P plus mater install kit with all seals and bearings for about $300-$400 depending on manufacturer. I have hear nothing but good things about Yukon gears!

i have yukons' in the xj, seem to be fine. no issues yet only 2500 miles though
