I've been looking at the short arm lift kits on RE, preferably the 3.5". <b>I've heard that the long arms are better, but couldn't find a good explaination of why. Also if i was to buy the 3.5" superflex (which is a short arm) can it be upgradable to a long arm in the future?</b>
RE kits are known for their upgradability, which is the reason for wanting one. I am planning on the standard kit and then upgrade to a superflex (when i get enough loot). Another question (they never end) with a slip yoke eliminator i will not need a tcase drop, right? And if so is RE1807 SYE Kit CV TJ/XJ 96 (http://www.rubiconexpress.com/dynamic/mainpage.asp?folderid=208) the right one? What other options do i have to eliminate the vibes and the tcase drop?
Sorry for asking so many questions but i want to know this stuff so i can make a wise decision on my upgrades. Thanx for your help everyone!

the long arm gives you better articulation. you will be able to flex alot more, but when doing a long arm, you must cut off your existing control arm brackets, so going back to stock is alot harder, much harder, since your brackets are torched, or cut off! As far as SYE, I am not real familiar with tcase drops, etc. I would say that with only 3.5", and a SYE, you would not need to do a Tcase drop, but I would get a second opinion on that!
Unless you are planning on doing serious mods in the long run, go with the short arm, the RE superflex kit is great, from what I have heard. If you plan on keeping the jeep for a long time, and making it an offroad machine, go for the long arm!

Cool, thanx for the help. Yeah i'm gonna end up getting the standard kit, becuase of cash and then upgrade to the superflex.
I probably should make a new thread for this question but i'll stick to this thread. I have 4.10 axle ratio (d35 rear and d30 front) with a 4 banger and was wondering if i should get the 33's or maybe should i get the 31's or 32's. Will there be alot of stress on the axles and engine, enough to do some damage? And how about on the clutch? Will i have to ride it alot more to were i'll be replacing the thing every year? This will be my DD as well but i'm not too concerned with highway speeds, i can cruise at 60.

not to mention anything smaller on that lift will just look way way too small.
