Friday night the rear brakes in my Rubi started making a little noise and after about 2 miles they sounded pretty horrible when I stopped. I pulled things apart and found the drivers side was metal on metal.
After cutting the rotor and throwing in some new pads I found the caliper seems to be sticking and dragging the brake so I guess I'll drop it at the dealer tomorrow.
My question is, has anyone had similar issues with a Rubi or is this something that's not common. I just need to know if I should pack a spare caliper in my tool kit on long trips.

are they rubbing herd, like you were still on the brakes. you wont know it you had a seased caliper on the front. it would pull you to the left or right dependeing on what side it was on. the pads are going to ride on the disk a lil, if they didnt you would have to push the brake to the floor to get them to work...
where bot pads worn the same??

Both pads on the drivers side rear were metal to metal and the passenger side rear had plenty of meat left. The drivers side is putting off tons of brake dust and you can smell the pads burning. I would think the caliper is covered under warranty but who knows.

I actually just changed my front pads wiht the rear ones being changed next weekend and I don't have that problem. I would definitely say the waranty is going to come in handy for this one.

Driving around with your E-Brake on? Nope. The ebrake is an internal disc instead of a loaded caliper.

Its a stick, use compression But really its brand new take it back to the dealer.

I had the front caliper seize on the passenger side. Well not completely seize, but sticking. Worked fine on really warn pads, but stuck open and closed on newer pads. Covered under warranty without question.

Covered under warranty without question. Basically the same thing with mine. They replaced my caliper under warranty yesterday and checked out the rest of the system.
