I have a 97XJ that I want to lift. I was thinking about the RE 2" lift for 239.00, then I saw the BD 3" for 375.00. Does anyone have any thoughts? Will an extra inch make much difference? I want to keep it cheap, and also have it ride well on the road. Thank you. D.

I have 3" black diamond springs, they flex great and ride well. I also think you would be happy with the extra inch. What size tire are you going to run? Bob

Well, I was going to run a 30 inch tire if I get a 2 inch lift, or use a 31 if I get a 3 inch lift. I really want to keep it cheap, and I dont know if a 3 inch lift and 31 inch tires will be worth the extra money. Any thoughts? D.

In my opinion, it is worth it to have the 31's and the 3". If you do the 2" you may wish you went a little bigger. Good luck! Bob

For 275 you can get the rustys 3in add a leaf kit. Bluerocket used to run it. I looked into it and heard alot of things. But ended up puting my pretty much free 2in kit in. I could easaily fit 31s with a lilttle trimming.

If its between 2 and 3 inch, go 3. You may need a tcase drop for either lift.

and if you get the 3, you can always add coil spacers/longer shackles in the future if you decide to go bigger

I would go with 3" lift, some generous fender cutting and a set of 33"tires.

Are you serious? 33" tires! I am afraid it would not ride well on the road. I have to be realistic.....Im not sure I will be able to go wheeling more than 5 or 6 times a year. Would 33's make a big difference? D.

I would reccomend 31" tires and a 3" lift, it will ride good on road and with some good driving be capable offroad. 33's on a 3" lift requires trimming almost all of your fenders away.
