Hi guys,
My oil sensor light is not working properly. When I start the car in the morning, the oil pressure gauge does not come up at all. In the past, it would come up to the half way mark immediatley. Now, after a few seconds, the check gauges light comes on as well. Once I drive a few miles, and start to warm up, the gauge comes up, and the light goes off. Does the sensor need replacing? I checked the oil level, and it is perfect. I have to make a fairly long drive on Friday. Anything to worry about here? Thanks for all input.
David

check it with a mechanical gauge on to be sure. Maybe your oil needs changing? Bob

what kind of jeep? i know my xj had a bad sending unit, and would read 0 when idling, and pinned to the right (WAY past 80psi) when even at 1500rpm.

if you have a scan tool, you can test each guage individually. to make sure it isnt the cluster. never know!
also check your wiring connections at the sending unit. all before spending money! rule out everything

Thanks boys. I changed the oil today. Seems to be working OK now. We will see when the weather gets cold again.
