i would just like to add we only used the circular saw for the straight cuts and switched over to an angle grinder for the rest...it was definately an interesting time. now its my turn...

I definatly will be hopping on this band wagon
instead of LED's you can simply go to a motorcycle shop and get the flush mount turn singnals and use those!

for some reason a circular saw seems like a pipewrench taking off lugnuts, next time ya might want to try a sawzall or one of those little air hacksaw things. Its a bit easier to follow the line with a smaller blade.
But it looks good, props for not being a yuppie and scared to cut something.
As for LEDs you should get some 4" round clear , and put them under the headlights like a CJ

LEDs are wicked bright ! and cheap. Might as well order some for the rear while your at it. PICS!

Looks really nice, what are to doing about the bare edge now? Touch up paint? Is there a better wat to fix the rough edge? I'm think about doing it to my YJ.

we started with a 2" air cut off wheel but his compressor doesn't have enough ballz to power it and we were being lazy and didn't want to drive to my house to get the angle grinder so we tried it with the saw....worked awesome...but couldn't do the down cut...so we sucked it up and went to get the angle grinder.
he touched up the edges with paint for now and is going to get some black trim molding to finish it up.

I ordered the trim and 2.5 inch flush mount orange LED's this morning and they should be at my house by friday or monday, I will get picture up when I finish.

by using a circular saw you probabally got a straighter (is that a word?) cut. bigger blade easier to make a straight line, less wobble I have done this same thing to a bunch of cj recently, seems to work well. but i would put some sort of support under the outside of fender (tube or something) the fenders are alot easier to bend when you cut them like this. just my personal experience.

there is a brace under the fender but we cut most of it off....afterwards bob leaned on it a little and it didn't move so we aren't too worried about it....we left some of the brace in place.
