I installed an SYE over xmass and I think the sealant I used either wasnt that good, or the fact that it was like -20 outside and about 10 or 20 degrees in the garage didnt help either.
Anyways Its leakin out pretty bad right now, especially after driving 900 miles since yesterday afternoon so I am going to have to pull it apart again. Anybody recommend an RTV sealant other than that red crap at autozone that may keep fluid in the tcase this time?
Also I am leaking a good amount from my rear diff at the top where drive shaft connects. It was leaking just a bit before this weekend, but now its leakin like a b*tch. I know there is a seal or something up there that I will have to replace. Anyone know what I am gettin myself into?
If its going to be a major deal and I have to rip the entire diff apart I may just regear and lock it while im in there.

Is all you have to do is take off that one big nut holding the yoke on and you can pull that seal out and replace it(rearend). I just used rtv black silicon when I put a new input gear in my transfercase and it sealed great. No leaks.

The "right stuff" or black silcon has worked when I useded them. If you did your work during the winter and it is real cold some sealers don't spread evenly and tend to clump up.

my guess would be that the type of sylicon you used was not the problem, but the temperature was. Try to do it in a warmer place this time and let the sylacon sit for about 10-15min before putting the rear half of the TC back on, that worked best for me

I agree with the cold being a big factor on that one.
