I was looking ahead to the Paragon trip and was wondering what kind of spare parts do people take? Where do you get spares, junkyard, manufacture, ect....
I'm pretty new to wheeling so is it entirely necessary to get a lot of spare parts before the trip?

All depends on how hard you push your rig. Its always a good idea to some basic replacement parts ie. u-joints and a fullsize spare. If you beat on your rig though, its prob a good idea to bring a little more say some spare axle shafts, drive shaft etc.. oh and always have spare fluids on hand like motor oil, gear oil, coolant and all that good stuff

well since pap is so far away, more and more of us are getting trailors so its not a must but besides fluids, u-joints for the ds and axle are a must and if you can find some axle shafts it would be good but not a must.
when i go to alloy shafts ill be keep my factory's as spares.

A full toolkit is also good, I keep every tool I have in th eback of my jeep, lowers me 2" but seems to be worth it when I run into a really random problem on the trail and have everyting I need to fix it.

i try and go with people who carry everything, so make sure you go with at least 4 people how have exact same vehicle as you. no seriosly bring axle shafts(junk yard) u-joints dont listen to parts stores only use dana/spicer joints. if you do get junkyard shafts change joints before you go. extra valve stems also. a big hammer, hoses of varius sizes hose clamps, vise grips. tie wire,duct tape, alternater,belts, lug nuts. anything you can think of that will break.

I bring most of my tools, and since brian gave me a DS, I bring that too! As far as u-joints go, I was always told not to get spicer, or other "stronger" u-joints. the reason being that if you have stronger u-joints, and you have something break, it is less likely to be your u-joint, and will usually be something more expensive/harder to replace. I like my u-joints to be my weakest link, since they are cheap, and easy to replace with the right tools. just my .03 (inflation ;D)

best thing to do....buy a towbar, and another jeep exactly same year and model as yours then you got anything you need
