if you're refering to the spark plug gap, there is a small sticker just above the steering column under the hood that should have all that info.

Look under the hood, by the firewall. I believe the cherokee's have the spark gap written there.

yeah, check your plugs and cap like everyone has said, but also, inspect your wires for any cracks, etc in the insulation. I had a spark plug wire touch my headers in another car before, and melted the insulation. every time I hit the throttle, the engine would torque a little, and the wire would arc on the headers... probably not your problem, but free to check!

so i checked all the plugs, and they were set to a gap of .045... so i changed that. then i was checking all the wire connections into the cap and found the real issue.
popped on of the wires off one of the cap studs to find the studd completely corroded, covered in blue... and then saw a bunch of crap fall out of the wire plug.. looked in and the wire connector completely broke apart and disintegrated...
thank god that's all it was.
