Okay, I have a question for the experts and also any comments that you may have about this. I am looking at getting more aggressive tires and was wondering what the pros and cons of getting tires with or without siping. The guy that I get tires from told me that with siping most off road tires wear out faster and the siping really only makes a big difference on ice and light snow. Can you guys and gals please give me your input? Thanks for the help and/or advice and comments.

Thanks for the advice Erik. These tires will be on my everyday vehicle, but I currently have AT's that I could keep for the winter and switch them for out during the warmer months when there will be more off roading. I do off road quite a bit more then I originally expected and with the experience of this last weekend. The AT's really filled up with dirt and mud pretty quick and didn't clean out that well. I know that with a more of an aggressive MT tire, this wouldn't have been an issue. The AT's did pretty good. Just not as well, as I would have wanted. I have just heard a few things about siping and how it helps in the winter months, but in the mud, I don't see where this would make too much of a difference with a good MT. But, I'm not much of a tire guy, that's why I brought my question here for help and ideas. ;D Thanks again and any other additional ideas and/or advice is GREATLY appreciated.

Not to hi-jack this or anything, but.. I have had a number of different tires (Brand, tread, and size) I have never been happier than I am with my Yoko MT's The only down fall is they are only a 2 ply sidewall but the price is right, long tread wear, great grip, unbelievable wet weather traction (Never had that before in a Mud Tire) awesome in the snow, didn't ever use 4wd tuesday night. (I got 10 inches of snow) Just though I would give you my opinion.

Nice looking set of meats. Well, I think that answers that. From what I can see, the siping doesn't have a lot of difference pertaining to a MT. I see where it would be a plus for cars. Thanks for the help, comments and advice.
