Yeah he's shady!! (kinda)
I bought a front end from him. He gave me a good price but I’m not to sure about the quality of what he put in..... I guess I'll find out when I have my front end looked at
...well anyway I just thought I'd throw that out there as an option.
Good luck

go to a local dealer around closing time, and ask a couple of the techs there if they wanna do a job on the side, then tell them what you want. I got a quote of $1600 from a dealer to put all new ring & pinion and spider gears in my old YJ's rear end, I priced the parts on quadratec, they were about $450, I had a tech call me, and ask if I wanted to do it on the side for $400, all new insides for the diff! They can get the parts at cost, or sometimes they have extras lying around, and they pocket the money, you both make out! I know a guy that works at a caddy dealer, and he has all kinds of parts for caddy's, and he makes a killing doing side work!

oh, BTW, the 3.55 gears are harder to come by, i was told because that was an optional gear ratio (maybe just on my 95 YJ, but who knows) I could not find that ratio at any junkyard, and the service manager, who was actually trying to help me out, could not find that ratio at a junk yard. yes, he was trying to help me, he had the rear end out of a durango that was just removed, because there was a recall on them, they put the wrong gears in them, and it happened to be 3.55s! He was going to try to see if they could bolt on the rear end, but they did not match, he was gonna give it to me, cuz it is illegal for him to sell me used parts from another customers car. he was then going to try to trade it to a junk yard for a YJ rear end, but could not find 3.55s... so try talking to a tech at the dealer!

Here's the deal. I talked to my parts collector last night, he has 2 front ends out of CJ's, both are narrow track. (wrong side drop) He currently has a D30 in his YJ that he will soon be taking out, but it has 4.10:1, probably need new axles, He has been driving around on it for two years with 35's
Also It is out of a 89 YJ which uses the 260X ujoint I think??
I should be hitting the scrap yard later this week in search for a D44 waggy front axle. I will tell ya if I find something!!
