My guess for different models of a yellow top are size. A 34/78 fits nicely on a Jeep battery tray.

if you read closely on the optima site they say that the yellow top should not be used in a single battery set up and and that if you use one you should isolate it and use a redtop as your primary battery.
if you search on ROF, there have been many posts about people who have had to fight with optima for their warrenty due to using a yellow top as their primary battery.
i run a red and have a yellow top if i ever get around to doing my dual battery set up. but if i don't the yellow top works great on my bench to test electrical circuits.

run a larger power wire to the deck, it probably needs it anyways, a lot of aftermarket head units do

i thought that the optima site says to not mix and match the yellow and redtop. maybe thats running them in series and not isolated tho.

34/78 is the way to go for a TJ. It has the top posts that your TJ uses, and the GM side posts to connect accessories to (don't connect high current accy's like winches tho, cuz the side posts are not rated for that) I have had my yellow top for i dunno, maybe 2.5 years now, and It works like it did the day I put it in! I have deep cycled it hard core a few times (left the headlights on for 8+ hours) and completely drained it (not even dim parking lights!) and once I jumped it, it never lost any power, etc.
On a side note, if you are putting a yellow top (or other high end battery) in to enhance your car's electrical, you should also upgrade your "big 3" to maximize effectiveness of your yellow top and alternator. The "big 3" consists of: 1) your power wire from your alternator to your battery 2) your ground wire from your battery to the chassis 3) your ground wire from your engine to your chassis
A circuit can only supply as much power as the smallest wire in the circuit. If you use the stock 8ga wires and put in a winch or stereo amp that uses 4ga or 2ga, then you are essentially using 8ga, and not getting the most out of your alternator. I would do 4ga or 2ga, depending on what kind of stuff you have hooked up. I personally installed 1/0 ga wires for my big 3, which was a little overkill, but I will never be robbing my winch, etc of power!
Just go onto ebay and look up the size wire you need (and color too!) and most ebay stores allow you to buy it by the foot. you should only need about 3 ft for each part, and dont forget the ring terminals for the appropriate size!
**oh yeah, and chrome, check your PM! I need you to make sure you get madd biddies son!**

All I can say is I bought my yellow top back in the summer of 2000 and installed it in my 2000 TJ that I used to wheel. I took the battery out when I sold it and it now starts the LJ with ease. Never had any problems at all.
Keep in mind, I've always plowed with my jeeps in the winter with elec/hyd set ups.
