got 75 mph death wobble 6 this morning in the rain. man it was intense. felt like i was doing 75 down railroad tracks. i s*** my pants and headed to the side of the road. damn trackbar bracket. one of the nuts on the bolt that fastens the bracket stripped out and was just kinda stuck on the bolt loosly. i have to cut it off. now when im doing 45 plus i get it due to the egg shaped hole the dw caused. i love the zj

not for nothing, but many ****ing times do we have to tell you its not your damn steering dampener!!! ichecked everything else, so its the shock thingy till you prove otherwise

Im talking about the little white shock in this picture thats under the winch. The little shock thingy between the wheels. Not the struts.

ok then, you are talking abou tthe steering dampner, and you are wrong mitch! sorry the steering dampner can not create death wobble, if it is loose you should tighten it, but it is not the cause of your issue.
if you would get off your a*# and come down i will look at it for you! lol

I am not saying that I am right, I am going to relace the steering dampner.. I will also double check everything else, to see if anything is loose or out of place.
I may have to come by your house to look at it, but It would be a scary ride, so I kinda want to fix it here, but I probably dont have the tools. I am such a tool.

ok.. i told you how to check the trackbar....never thought to tell you what it looks like.under the front of your jeep.......look for a bar that has a tie rod end type thing on one side....and a bushing on the other.its connected to the frame section on one end,the front axle on the other.with the jeeps wheels ON THE GROUND(read not jacked up),have someone yank the steering wheel back and forth while you watch both ends of your trackbar(piece i described above).when you do this have the engine off and key on.then......once you see that its the trackbar as numerous people have stated go to napa.....ask for the moog problem solver trackbar....go home,call one of your friends to help(much easier with 2 people to reinstall it),LEAVE the jeep on the ground,find the piece under the front of the jeep that looks like the piece your holding,undo the rod end,undo the bolt in the eyebushing end and have your buddy rock the wheel back and forth gently until you get the bolt out.to install it....install the rod end,then have your buddy turn the steering wheel until the hole is lined up to reinstall the bolt thru the bushing end,tighten it up......and go drive your wobble free jeep!!!

I found an interesting trick. If your lower track bar hole is egged and sloted or what not order a new style jks track bar bushing for a rear grand cherokee track bar. The bolt is 12mm versus the old 10mm so you just have to drill out the old hole to the new larger diameter. Worked for me. Ill try and track down the jks number later tonight.
