I think I have asked enough questions about tires lately to make people wanna scream. So just one more to cover it all. I would like a nice big aggresive looking/functioning tire. Are the superswamper bogger's too gnarly for street driving? I really like the way they look. What would be the best aggresive tire for good traction off road and ok to cruise the street in. My jeep will not be a daily driver so keep that in mind. Just let me know names, and i can handle the rest oh and it will be for a 4 inch lifted tj so 33 inch tires. I am searching online for a combo rim and tire special, but not having any luck. Any good site to check on? Ok I promise not to ask anymore tire questions. Thanks guys

if its not a daily driver im not sure why you give a s***. i really like my MTR's I think they are the s***. what are your plans for terrain? i bet todd will chime in here, he has boggers on his piece of s***.

i lied earlier when i said you could get a good price online for tires. i had to call to get the actual price. i called desert rat. its in most of the truck mags. their the s***.

I have not tried boggers, but heard they are not that hot.i have LTB's and love em'! got them for a great price at 4wheelparts.com Bob

ok so i will write something about booggers. they work well but man i would think twice if you ever drive the jeep on road. loud, flat spot, and terrible life span, did i mention loud? they work good off-road but i think maybe next i will get iroks! but that won't be for a while! i do like the size i run though 35x10.5x15 skinny and tall, i would have gotten Qs' . . . but i have a personnal reason why i can't. (hotrodcj can explain better than me)

I really like the looks of thos LTB's too. but they seem to only come in 33x13.50-15LT and 33x13.50-16LT will that fit on a 15 x 8 inch rim for my tj?

well I guess what I should ask is what is the max tire and rim width and height for a 4 inch lifted tj. I have dana 35 rear. so I want to stick with 33's and i dont want rubbing at max turned stearing wheel. So will that 34 inch rub?

have you checked out the TSL SX's? I am running 31"x 13 1/2" SXs and i could not be any happier with them. i am not running lockers ,limited slip or any crazy traction control. all completely stock open diffs and the amount of traction i get with the swampers is amazing in my eyes. A friends of mine is running 38 boggers on his toyota and he says he hates them.......they are awsome in mud but suck on smooth rock and thats mainly what he does(rockcrawling). depends what you mainly do i guess. alot of New england rocks are sharp and jagged but i've been to quite a few places of sheer smooth rock and my swampers do pretty good even when they are wet. Also i dont normally keep them on because its my daily driver but i have left them on my jeep since december from lazyness and besides noise and a small flatspots that smooth out after a couple miles i havent found any other problems. i also found that balancing them helps alot with the harmonics on the highway. before i balanced them they would go through frequencies at certain speeds and make an obnouxious humming then stop. now that i balanced them they have been fine. just my 2cents

Keep the info coming. I dont want 31's though. But thanks for your advice there. I am going to be doing rising wehre i will want a lift to clear things. I would really like to know if those 34's would be ok with a 4 inch lift. Anyone got an idea? Its tough being a Jeep rookie :/

What about the Swamper TSL Radial?
They come in 33x12.5x15 size. They also last longer than the LTB version.
You could always add a 1" bodylift on top of your 4" suspension to clear the 34's...
Also, the main rubbing issue you get is from running a wider tire on a rim with not adequate backspacing. A rim with 4" backspacing should keep your tires from rubbing the control arms when turning, and if you still get rubbing at Full-lock, you can adjust the steering stoppers on the knuckle with a couple of washers.

I would say 99.9% of the people I know with the boggers (which is only 4 people) say the same thing, great off road, not so great on road. The IROK's are a better all around tire, a little more forgiving on the roads, available in Bias ply as well as radial and has sipping for better rain traction.
then you can get into the m/tr's they are essentially a really aggressive all terrain tire that acts like a dedicated off road tire off road, and a solid a/t on road! The only down side of this tire I have ever hear is that they need to be rotated constantly cause they wear un-evenly (or at least thats what I heard)

OH ya one more thing, I would not exceed a 33/34" tire with the D35. a 15x8 rim would be your best bet with a 12.5" wide tire, a 13.5" wide tire willalso work on this rim. but anything over that is too much. I personlyy don't think a 15x10 rim is needed unless two things, your running a 37" tire or the width is over 13.5"
a 15x10 will put more stress on you wheel bearings and will not allow for a good balloon effect when airing down as well, will be more prone to blowing a bead at less than 20 psi.
